(see BEST BUY #5 for Shiraz)
WATER WHEEL 2006 MEMSIE Shiraz Cabernet Malbec
         (87%,7%,6%)14.5% alcohol
Our notes:- (12/4/2007) This is the second bottle for tasting- first was several weeks ago and it was such a standout that we rated it higher than the recently released 2005 Shiraz .
We requested a second bottle of Memsie and drank it with a spiced chicken dish. It was a hit, loaded fruit bomb, extremely soft suggesting the 2006 Shiraz should be a knockout. (we won't be promoting the 2005 Shiraz).
Our judgement was ahead of the recent Winewise rating of "Highly Recommended"
We noted layers and layers of endless flavours, lingering on and on - just a sip fills the mouth! Moreish 5.5/6
BUT MORE TO THE POINT, NOT ONLY IS IT GREAT DRINKING AND MOREISH, WE JUST CAN'T BELIEVE THE VALUE AFTER PASSING ON THE PROMO DOLLARS WE EXTRACTED! Value 6/6.

2006 MEMSIE

SHIRAZ    CABERNET SAUVIGNON    MALBEC

“A Bendigo blend of shiraz , cabernet sauvignon and malbec, the Memsie can be relied upon to deliver simple pleasure and satisfaction when served with pasta, pizza and barbeque fare. Plenty of grape flavour within a modest structure with gentle tannins and a friendly, approachable nature.
As with all the Water Wheel reds, great value for money.4.5/5.”

This vintage is fantastic. It’s Victorian, with all the goodies from the spicier spectrum as well as oodles of blackberry and a cosy richness.

GREG DUNCAN POWELL. SYDNEY MORNING HERALD. APRIL 22, 2006.

Amazingly good value wine too. 8.3/10.
