Listed prices are per bottle
when buying a full unbroken case. However, we will mix a dozen
bottle case as long as you order a minimum of 3 bottles of any
one wine unless a higher minimum prevails. You can also add single
bottle purchases from the "Museum Cellared Wine" list to make up
a dozen.
We send in cases of 12 bottles, any less please contact for freight
costs. A 15% discount for exports applies to the wines > $15 in this
list. Prices are ex our warehouse.

Whole bunch pressed juice was barrel fermented on solids in new
and one year old Seguin Moreau Chagny, Dargaud and Jaegle Vosges
barriques, with some of the ferments conducted with AWRI 1375
pure S. bayanus yeast this year. Malo-lactic fermentation on 60%
of the wine and lees contact for eleven months, preceded bottling
in March 2004. 26 barriques were produced from the 2003 vintage.
An excellent example of Balnaves Chardonnay with complexity
and elegance. ****1/2

Celine Rousseau was born in Paris and trained in Bordeaux. Celine's winemaking
experience in Champagne, Bordeaux and Languedoc in France and Margaret River
and the Perth Hills in Western Australia combines traditional and modern techniques.
Her skill has been recognised with the award of the QANTAS Medal for most promising
young Australian winemaker for 2002 and is reflected in the success of

Source: Produced from premium Chardonnay grapes in the University
vineyard in the cool climate district of Orange on the Central
Tablelands of New South Wales.
Wine: The wine has a bouquet of nectarine and honeydew melon; the
palate is full and rounded with stonefruit and grapefruit flavours.
The majority of the wine was fermented under strict temperature
control to retain the fresh fruit flavours and then blended with a
small quantity of barrel fermented Chardonnay for added complexity.
This is a fresh, fruit dominant wine with some complexity and a
long clean acid finish.

Straight away lifted tropical fruits characters are evident, peach stone,
field daisy’s and pineapple cubes then as it opens a smoky scent with white
spice and melon comes through indicating the wines fruit complexity and
barrel ferment characters.
The palate is tight, quite full bodied, dry and long in length with an overwhelming
softness to it. On the second sip there is lots of interesting ripe tropical
fruit characters with stone fruits and minerals that are mingled amongst subtle
oak tannins and balanced with fine elegant acidity as the wine opens up.
This dry, full bodied wine is most enjoyable now and will continue to develop
further complex fruit and bottle age characters over the next 8 to 10 years from

Oh boy, young Chester has packed some serious goodies into this
statement of Adelaide Hills chardonnay.
It opens with very intense aromas of toasty oak and layers of varietal
chardonnay. All mineral and grapefruity with a strong charry
character showing through. The palate is powerful and laden
with lingering flavours that carry to a long and lifted finish. A wine
that will benefit with age. 91/100 MDrink: Now to 2010 Food: Crayfish

OF THE 2003 VINTAGE "I can’t remember the last release of this that was poor – it’s
excellent every year, and excellent value, to the point
where I’ve many times now recommended it as an annual
case buy to people who are prepared to spend but who
don’t want to do too much research. Short to medium term,
it also keeps, because the nectarine-like fruit always has
good acid support and the oak is never so big or blousy as
to threaten fatness. This release is right in that mould,
though the fruit is a notch more intense, the restrained oak
is milky (particularly on the nose), and the palate woven
with almond biscuit-like characters that become, on the

Australia's finest Chardonnay. Quite a bold statement, but nothing
comes close in terms of power, style & complexity. Rich melon/fig
fruit with nutty oak & malty overtones. In style is closer to Mersault or
Puligny Montrachet than the traditional Aussie style. Expensive, but
without peer & worth every cent.
A classic Leeuwin Estate Chardonnay whose perfectly focused citrus, stonefruit
and tropical fruit qualities are interwoven with tightly knit oak and crystalline
acidity. There's a suggestion of lemon tart, cloves, vanilla and mineral beneath
its penetrative aromas of grapefruit, peach and lemon butter. Exceptionally long
and pronounced, it's taut and persistent palate knits pristine layers of pineapple,
banana, lemon and grapefruit with the purest, brightest acidity. Exemplary. 97 points

marinated in wine and herbs and we agreed that the wine exudes fantastic
fruit and as usual, if the wine is good, the Browns share the bottle very

This has always been a popular style laden with luscious peachy fruit,
though our criticism in the past was a leaning to over richness, too much malo
lactic, resulting in a broad flabby style lacking focus. This vintage is
the best we've seen and will impress the buffs! A little leaner and not so

Mountadam has the oldest Chardonnay vines in South Australia and some
of the oldest in the country. There are 7 clones of Chardonnay planted on the
estate. This wine was made from 100% High Eden Estate fruit to capture the
exquisite characteristics of the Chardonnay varietal without the influence
of oak. Quality techniques were used to ensure freshness all the way from
picking to finished wine. The wine is light gold in colour with green tinges.
Classic Chardonnay characters of peaches, nectarines and honeydew melons
are obvious on the nose with an underlying citrus freshness. The palate is
lively and intense with alluring peach and ripe nectarine flavours, lean lemony
acidity typical of Chardonnay from the cooler High Eden Ridge.

Newly launched wine label, April 2008. At the completion of fermentation, the wine
is left on lees for eight to nine months with regular stirring
and topping. About half of the wine is fermented and aged in French
oak barrels, the other half in stainless steel tanks. In this time
the wine flavours become more complex and textured developing a rich
creaminess and spicy fragrance.

Oldest Vineyard in the Upper Hunter. Was Penfolds Dalwood
Estate with the Shiraz planted by Max Schubert (Grange
Hermitage fame) in 1958 from Magill Estate. Yarraman has
had a few other firsts with both Chardonnay & Gewurtztraminer
planted in the Hunter Valley in 1962.
This one surprised in our tasting, loads of fruit with
so much depth as one expects from old vines - well
balanced, very moreish OUR HIGH RECOMMENDATION WITH VALUE
