"Just released, we tasted this lovely wine just in time to be included in this month’s tasting. It is
jam-packed with ripe berry fruit, spicy with oak nicely in balance.
It is definitely a keeper, at a very affordable price." John & Robyn

"This wine is a blend of Shiraz from two distinct parts of the Barossa. The peppery spice of cool climate
Eden Valley Shiraz (60%) is combined with the renowned licorice and plum characters of the
Barossa Valley. Aged for 14 months in small French oak, the wine has delicate fruit balance with
moderate alcohol and tannin structure leading to a moreish finish. To accompany this Shiraz, dishes
from spicy cuisine through to barbaque and classic roast dishes are recommended. Winemaker: Con Moshos"

COTTIER 2006 Wairarapa Sauvignon Blanc NZ (rrp14) 13.5% Al.
Moreish 5/6 Value 6/6

OUR DOZEN PRICE  $188 a dozen               Normal retail about $276 a dozen
Purely delicious.

The nose is fresh and fragrant, and quintessential Sauvignon Blanc. The palate - zesty, fruity
gooseberry, limes, passionfruit, herbaceous AND it remained very moreish through the entire
bottle and long after we finished our meal. We struggled for equal portions to the last drop.
Hard to admit, but is was better than "The Ned". Tasting 8/6/07
Re-visited 15/11/07 - Now more mature, more food friendly, nicely balanced with  intriguing depth of honeyed flavours
which we still enjoyed throughout our second tasting bottle. This wine is bought from the Australian agent as required.

 Moreish 4.75/6 Value 6/6
OUR DOZEN PRICE  $110 a dozen               Normal retail about $174 a dozen

Has got to be one of the best valued reds we have.
Charles Sturt Uni runs courses for winemaking and
viticulture and students are involved in applying
the skills they learn. Not a profit organisation but
enough margin to help run the courses. Many a well
noted winemaker has passed their tests here. Since 1977
have been awarded 23 Trophies, 84 Golds, 164 Silver
and 395 Bronze medals in national wine shows.
 WHAT VALUE THEY GIVE.
Peppery nose, soft fruit driven with balanced oak - very
drinkable with residual fruit sweetness and lasting flavours.
Medium bodied with smooth, firm tannin finish. Excellent wine,
moreish for an unbelievable price. Moreish 4.75/6, Value 6/6.
As a promo incentive, we will sell you a dozen at a ridiculous $110,
knowing you will be back for more and saying "Thanks Charles Sturt".

ROBERTS ESTATE 2003 Shiraz  Moreish  5/6   Value 6/6
YOUR DOZEN PRICE  $93/dz                Normal retail about $130 a dozen  No it is not the 2002, that was sold out. We had a 2003 with beef stew
and were both confused. Without looking at the label closely, we discussed
just how good the 2002 was and what a shame this bottle was the last.
We were were surprised to see it was the 2003

MAJELLA  2005  Coonawarra Merlot  13.5% Al
YOUR DOZEN PRICE  $312/dz   Normal retail about $465 a dozen
Deep dark black ink colour. An alluring bouquet of dark forest
blackberries and notes of warmth inviting you to partake. At
times like this you know the nose does most of the pre-judging.
Palate:- Scrumptious!
Who ever thought a Merlot is a blending wine - WRONG. Intense,
balanced berries, mint and fine oak - a bombshell of flavour for
ever exciting the full horizon of the palate.
GLOWING WARMTH and very Mo
Mo Mo Worth every cent.

THE NED 2007 Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough NZ
YOUR DOZEN PRICE  $177 a dozen                Normal retail about $243 a dozen

                GETTING TO KNOW YOU Ned

the Ned is the latest Sauvignon Blanc from Brent Marris ( previous owner and still winemaker
for Wither Hills)  is named after the summit  of Marlborough at 909 meters above sea level.
An impressive Marlborough
icon, the Ned is an abiding symbol of
"The Summit of Marlborough".Brent says " I have created this amazing wine, packed with ripe
herbaceous notes, underpinned with
a striking hint of citrus. The cold nights of the 2006 vintage have particularly cemented its intense
flavours.

the Ned has a normal retail price of $20.27, however, we have been in a fortunate position to
take advantage of a once up  INTRODUCTORY super deal. It is yours for $14.95 each
(minimum three in a mixed dozen)  OR the way to go is take a dozen at $177 (and that is $14.75 each).
This is a RED HOT price and is our top selling Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

If it sounds a cheap price, well it is.
It comes with both Robyn and my unequivocal recommendation.
Moreish factor of 5/6
Post Note January 2006. Since writing the above special and notes, the NED began selling
slowly as one would expect from a new label. Well, as each bottle sold, they came back for
more and in dozen lots. Even friends from Paris who love their Loire Sauvignon Blancs
admitted the NED was something very special and even used it for their daughter's wedding
and took the balance back to Paris 18th January. It is just a superb wine, not overly herbaceous,
sits very well on the palate and the last drop is as good as the first. The "It comes with both
Robyn and my unequivocal recommendation." mentioned above has stood the time and even
more so now.

If you can't find the wine you want do a search on:-

Moreish factor of 2 to 6 -
is our a quick scoring technique we use to judge the
drink ability of a wine
e.g. 6/6 would be the highest score we use when you want
more and possibly find it difficult to share the
"last drop" with others. Now forget all other complicated
judging techniques, in the end it comes down to:-
do you like it or not?
